Sherwood “Woody” Hiro
Executive Chef
Born on Molokai and returning after 5 years off island,
Executive Chef Sherwood “Woody” Hiro is ecstatic to be
back home again on the Island of Molokai
along with his wife, Macy (Simmons), and their children
as he embarks on this new journey at Hiro’s Ohana Grill.
Chef Woody recently moved from Oahu
where he was employed for 5 years at a popular eatery
called “Fresh Catch “. He was the Head Chef
specializing in Seafood, Poke, Sashimi
and local plate lunches.
Chef Woody's experience also includes
working at the Hotel Molokai Restaurant as the
Executive Chef back in 2007-2012.
He also worked as chef at The Lodge at Molokai Ranch,
Kaupoa Camp, Paddler’s Inn, Palomino
and Chili’s in Oahu to name a few.
Prior to starting his Foodservice career,
Woody attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts
in Portland Oregon and got his
Associates Degree in 2002.
Chef Woody continues to work hard with his kitchen team, crafting daily menu specials and supporting
local vendors as much as possible.
He passionately looks for ways to give guests
a memorable dining experience at Hiro’s Ohana Grill.
